2012 has been a good year for food contest for us. I found this one on facebook and wanted to share it. The good folks at Gnarly Head have a $5,000 Rib Recipe Contest going for the fourth year running. Come up with a Savory Rib Recipe and pair with with a Gnarly Head Wine and you could win the big prize. The contest is judged by Tom Dileo owner of 3 Bro's Butcher BBQ, Phillip Patrick Pro BBQ Judge, Jennifer Clair Pro Cook & Food Writer, and John Scoff Chef of Low Country Bistro in South Carolina.
Judging Criteria: The judging criteria are as follows:
- Originality (25%): Is the ribs recipe one of a kind?
- Perceived Taste Appeal (25%): Does the recipe sound appealing?
- Perceived Wine Pairing (25%): Does the wine complement and enhance the ribs?
- Simplicity (25%): Could anyone create these ribs by following the recipe?
Contest ends July 31st, so fire up the smoker and get your recipes worked out, then submit your best rib recipe and a nice photo for a chance to win $5,000. Good Luck to us all.
