Every month is National Barbecue Month in my book. Hell if you don't hit the grill at least once a week something is wrong. But officially May is the month to get out buy some local meat, fire up the grill and gather a group of people together and eat some down home cook'n. May for us in California is a bit up and down as far as the weather is concerned. For those colder days fire up the smoker and put out a brisket or tri-tip and for the hot days, get a 12 pack, some burgers and fire up the grill.
Staying at home saves you money and you get to spend time with the family, but this is National Barbecue Month and you need to get out and see whats going down at some of the BBQ Events in the Golden State. We're in the starting months of California's Race for the Barbecue points. Teams are smoking their best products to become the king of California. Its a good time to hit up some of these events. Most events are free to get in but you do have to pay to taste the meats. Take the Family to one of these events happening this month and enjoy what California is cook'n.
