2010 was a huge year for burger Joint to open up and kick some beef butt. Bobby Flay open a few place around the USA and other burger dudes like Five Guys, Elevation Burger, The Counter and Smashburger came out of nowhere and have be making it know that you don’t have to run to BK or Mc D’s to get a burger anymore. It’s no wonder the fast food giants are changing recipes, adding new burgers and kicking up the ads this summer. Plus the price of beef, tomatoes and gas are becoming more expensive every day, so chicken and turkey are popping up more on menus, but no matter how pricy a burger gets Americans are going to run out and buy one or two a week and that’s what a new line of burger slingers are hopping for.
2011 is going to see another increase in the burger business. From East to West there’s going to me a large number of new burger places opening up. I put together a small list of the ones you need to watch out for in your travels this summer.
Jakes Way back Burger: Been around for 20 years and is expanding large this year with its burger of the month concept.
Burguesa Burger: A mix match of American hamburger with a Mexican flair.
BGR The Burger Joint: Opening in four states this year and has a bitch’n Slow Roasted Park, ham sweet pickle Swiss Chesses grilled pressed burger. YUM!
5 Napkin Burger: Messy Goodness but not just burgers, they’ve got a foot-long Kobe Beef dog and Lobster roll sliders.
Burger Lounge: I hate to say it but Rachael Ray likes this place, but it’s for a good reason. They have a small menu with grass-fed beef and only offer one beef, one turkey and one veg burger plus healthy salads.
Mooyah Burger & Fries: They Claim to have a deal to have 221 new locates opening in a few short years. Lets see!
Blanc Burger + Bottles: The winner of the 2010 BurgerBusiness Burger Bracket and has several locations already under construction.
Cheeseburger Bobby’s: One of the few places doing hand-hand-burgers.
Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar: Becoming a big player in the South Western part of the country right now. They are looking for new places to expand outside this territory.
Twisted Root Burger Co.: Sounds like a new band but it’s a Dallas based chain with ½ pound burgers mixed with brisket and chuck. I haven’t had one yet but sound f’n good.
Epic Burger: Been hearing about these dudes for a while and next time I’m out in the East Cost I got to hit them up. All natural meat that is never frozen, hand formed and cooked to order with fresh cut fries. They come to the west cost watch out In & Out Burger.
These are just a few places I found while reading some articles on line. Of course there’s always a few mom and pop places popping up in local areas that seem to get the local market, but if you looking to expand your pallet for some good burgers hit one of these new places this summer or if you have a few extra bucks your pocket contact one of these guys and see if you get your very own Burger Place open in your area.
