Placerville Wagon Train BBQ Rib Cook-Off

June 11, 2011- 12 to 6pm on Historic Main Street in Placerville, CA

This is the first year for the Placerville Wagon Train BBQ Cook-off event. 15 teams are competing for cash prizes, trophies and the title of best Pork Ribs in Nor Cal. Head Judge Scott Gomes will be over seeing the blind judging.  The Placerville Wagon Train is held every year to honor the heritage in El Dorado County. A bunch of the locals dress up in old western gear and actors are mixed in to interact with the visitors and give you a real out west experience.  The Outlaws and Ladies will stage a western-style shoot out near the historic Bell Tower with the Hangtown Marshals. Live music is performed by the Twilight Drifter and the Boy Scout Troop 58 will be putting on games for the children to enjoy. There is something for everyone. It’s a good time for your family to cruse around and enjoy some ribs.
