National Bison Month is July

Bison is Back. For the past few years Ranchers around America have been bringing the Bison population back. Over 2 millions Bison once roamed the Great Plains. At one point their population had dropped to around 200 head. In the past decade the numbers have grown to over 200,000. Rancher have dedicated their lives to bring the largest North American mammal back in large numbers. They have maintained large amounts of acreage from cost to cost and restauranteurs have been introducing their clients to the benifiets of eating Bison.

Bison has become a staple in some folks home replacing Beef. Our barbecue team the Buffalo Boys is gearing up to travel the country doing large events featuring Bison as our main source of protein.  Bison contains less fat, cholesterol and more iron and protein then anything else in the market today. It's quickly becoming a healthy choice for Americans. We think its a market that's wide open in the barbecue world. We are working with local ranchers to provide our customers with the best Bison possible. We are looking forward to the 2014 BBQ Season.

July is National Bison Month. Its a good time to find a local retailers or online stores and buy a few different cuts of Bison to see what you like. Bison is more expensive then beef but its has a better taste and is healthier. Bison contain less fat so it doesn't take as long to cook as beef but can quickly dry out if over cooked. Many of the online retailer have recipes listed on their website that can help you cook your meat up just right. Below you'll find a few links to some of the companies we currently use.
