| Too Ashamed Too Name |
Scott Gomes of Pit Pros BBQ and myself rolled out to Brentwood on Sunday to hang out with our friends. It was a nice day. As we got there 15 classic cars lined up and got into position for the car show. The whole event takes place in a nice shopping mall. Unfortunately for the barbecue teams, they have to work on a dirt area and not a nice grass lawn but you got to do what you got to do. The wind for Sunday was not as bad as Saturday from what the teams told us and it didn't stop the public from coming out and trying some of the best barbecue in town.
31 teams participated Saturday and about 27 teams for Sunday. Too Ashamed to Name were Grand Champs on Saturday and Wood House BBQ took it Sunday. A few other winners were Bill Souza, 3rd in Brisket and Derrick Galiste, 3rd in Chicken. Sierra Nevada had a very nice beer garden right next to Tom Sharp of Big Pig, so i didn't have to walk around too much.
This was my first time in Brentwood and I loved it. The teams were fun to hang out with. The venue was easy to find and open and I made some new barbecue buddies. Can't wait tell the next event.
